Vinous Antonio Galloni - 01 Nov 25
Bara's 2016 Brut Special Club is a fine choice for drinking today, as it offers a good bit of aromatic and flavor complexity to match its mid-weight personality. Dried pear, crushed rocks, mint, dried flowers, spice and red-toned fruit meld together. Brisk acids pull it all together on the finish. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: February 2024.

Special Club 2016 is a 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay blend with five percent still red wine from Bouzy. Pale rose gold in color with a fine bead, the nose has very expressive, pristine aromas of summer red berries, sweet spice and ripe citrus. The medium-bodied palate has considerable acid verve marked by minerality and mouthwatering salinity. It is a lithe, gastronomic rosé.

Champagne

Champagne, exclusively from France's Champagne region, is synonymous with luxury and celebration. Made primarily from Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier, it undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle, creating its signature bubbles. Flavours range from crisp green apple and citrus to rich, toasty notes of nuts and honey. Yeast contact in the bottle contributes to pastry and brioche notes, which are a key part of good quality Champagne. Top producers include Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Krug.
